Bookkeeping services in Iqaluit, Nunavut
Clean, current books that show you what your business is actually doing and make tax season uneventful. We take on the accounts that have fallen behind as readily as the ones that have not.
Reconciliation
Every bank and credit card account matched to your records, every month. Reconciliation is how errors, duplicate charges and missed deposits surface while they can still be corrected — and it is the work that determines whether your year-end numbers mean anything. If your books are months behind, we will catch them up before we start maintaining them.
Payroll
Pay runs, source deductions, records of employment and T4s. Payroll is unforgiving because it has a deadline every cycle and the CRA treats deductions held back from employees as trust funds. We run it on schedule so it stops being something you think about.
Accounts payable & receivable
Knowing what you owe and what you are owed is the difference between a cash flow problem and a cash flow surprise. We track both, keep aging visible, and flag the receivable that has quietly gone from late to unlikely — while there is still time to do something about it.
Monthly & year-end financial reports
A monthly statement you can actually read, and a year-end package your accountant does not have to rebuild. Because the accountant is down the hall, the reports we produce are already in the form the tax return needs — which is the whole point of keeping the books and the filings under one roof.
Common questions
My books are months behind. Is that a problem?
No — it is how most of the accounts we take on arrive. We catch them up first, then keep them current. Bring whatever you have, in whatever state it is in.
What software do you work with?
The common small-business packages, and we can work with what you already have rather than forcing a migration. If your current setup is genuinely holding you back we will say so, but changing software is a decision with a cost and we do not recommend it lightly.
Do you handle payroll and source deductions?
Yes — pay runs, source deductions, records of employment and T4s. Payroll has a deadline every cycle and the CRA treats employee deductions as trust funds, so it is the one area where being late gets expensive quickly.
Can you work with my existing accountant?
Yes. We keep books for clients whose accountant is elsewhere, and we produce year-end packages in a form they can use directly. That said, if we do both, nothing has to be handed across.
Behind is a normal place to start
Most of the books we take on are not current when we get them. Bring us whatever you have — a shoebox is a starting point, not a problem.
