JC Legal is a law, tax, bookkeeping and IT office in Iqaluit, Nunavut. This policy explains what happens to the personal information you send us through this website. It does not cover information you give us once you become a client — that is governed by our retainer and by our professional obligations of confidentiality.

What we collect

When you submit the consultation form, we receive:

• Your name, email address and, if you provide it, your phone number
• The service you selected and your preferred language
• Whatever you write in the message field
• Your IP address and the approximate city and territory it maps to
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site, so your browser requests files from Google and Google receives your IP address as a result.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this site.

Why we collect it

To read your enquiry, reply to it, and keep a record of who contacted us and when. The IP address and approximate location help us identify spam and abuse of the form.

Who else handles it

• Cloudflare hosts this website and runs the bot check on the form. Your IP address passes through Cloudflare on every visit.
• Resend delivers the form submission to our inbox as an email. A copy of that email, including what you wrote, is retained in our Resend account.

Both are service providers acting on our instructions. We do not sell your information or share it for marketing.

Where it is stored

Our email delivery provider is based in the United States, so information you send through this form is processed and stored outside Canada and may be accessible to foreign authorities under the laws of that country. If you would rather not send sensitive details this way, call us or visit the office instead.
